Green spring day and beauty of decay

Woo, the weather is fine and I'm feelin' good. Today we drove to another waterfall - Keila-Joa this time. But since it is Saturday, the place was packed with people, so we didn't stay for long and decided to just drive around and so we came upon an abandoned cemetery at a place called Harju-Madise. It's very old, I checked that the last burials there were in the 1960's, but most graves we saw were from the early 20th century. I find such soothing beauty in abandoned places and the ephemeral. When nature is slowly taking over again. And all the iron crosses, some of them fallen over (see pictures below), forgotten. Even all the relatives of the people buried there are all probably long dead. There were only 2-3 graves that'd been taken care of. I know some people would find this fascination a bit morbid, but I think it was a beautiful place for a quiet walk. Much better than the crowded waterfall area. I didn't even take ant pictures of it, haha.

A spring day for a Northern girl

Holy moly, it's getting so warm here. We drove to a little waterfall not far from Tallinn for a quick getaway today and sat down on the grass (well, a blanket actually) for the first time this year.
Yup, these are my warm weather clothes... But I actually took the jacket off eventually, so spring is officially on.
Some witchcraft is about to go down.

Birthday in Milan

It was my birthday a few days ago and Anders took me to a surprise trip to Milan... I knew we where going somewhere, but I literally found out the destination at the airport. I'm still totally mesmerized.
I had always imagined Milan to be a trendy city with high-end boutiques and brand shops and that part of it is defintely there, but there is so much more... beautiful architecture and romantic narrow streets, but also heavy contrasts - the world's most expensive brand stores and just a few meters away there are people sleeping under rugs.
But overall I really liked the people and how they looked. Most people have really good taste and there's a scent of an old-school elegance that you don't see that much in Nordic countries. Many older people have super stylish all-black outfits and apparently they don't think it's a grim look, and that's cool. They know how to style a scarf or a cravat or a fedora... And the shoes! Most people wear beautiful shoes, which was so good to see... Where I'm from almost everybody is wearing sneakers or some sort of running shoes nowadays... I understand that they're comfortable and all that, but I'm just not a big fan of the look. Especially sneakers paired up with a trench coat... ugh.
Here is the photo flow.

Trees on roof tops is a thing there. Loving it!
